St. Dominic Parish Helps Bucyrus Campus Grow

By April 28, 2016No Comments1 min read

If the kids and teachers at St. Ann Center’s Bucyrus Campus are smiling more than usual lately, thank St. Dominic Catholic Church in Brookfield. Through their Lenten Outreach, the parish raised more than $40,041, half of which was donated to St. Ann Center.

St. Dominic’s staff toured the Bucyrus Campus in January and followed up by donating school supplies for both the teachers and children. Sister Lucy Marindany, director of education and childcare, was invited to speak to parishioners about St. Ann Center’s mission. She returned in mid-April, and was presented a check for more than $20,000 by Father David Reith, St. Dominic’s pastor, and Pastoral Associate Mary Leatina.

“I spoke at all the masses, thanked the congregation and highlighted the work St. Ann Center is doing in the central city,” Sister Lucy says. “They were thrilled they could be part of our mission through this wonderful donation.” The funds will go toward completing the Bucyrus Campus’ childcare classrooms.
