Wild About Conservation: Kohl’s Wild Theater Entertains, Educates Clients at the Stein

By February 9, 2026No Comments1 min read

Positive change starts with a vision.

When 10 -year-old Leona Lionheart lets her imagination guide her through a journey where she meets three female conservation heroes, she learns how every person has the power to shape the world around us.

St. Ann Center’s clients got to join Leona on her imaginative journey when Kohl’s Wild Theater delighted an intergenerational audience with a performance of “Leona Lionheart Saves the World!” based on the book by Zach Thomas Woods. The all-ages musical highlights the environmental contributions from nature writer and illustrator Anna Comstock, marine biologist Eugenie Clark, and environmentalist and Green Belt Movement founder Wangarĩ Maathai.

Leona is guided by magical narrators as she explores nature, science, and courage across time and continents. As she meets the three conservationists, their remarkable stories unfold. Stein’s clients were entertained and educated by the theater troupe’s engaging storytelling.

Kohl’s Wild Theater is a partnership between Kohl’s, the Milwaukee County Zoo, and the Zoological Society of Milwaukee. The conservation-themed theater performances include drama, songs and puppetry.
