Clients at St. Ann Center’s Stein campus delivered hand-written thank you cards to the St. Francis Police Department during National Law Enforcement Day on January 9.
Each card expressed a client’s personalized message of thanks to police officers for their dedication and bravery. Officers at the St. Francis PD met with our clients to accept the cards. The clients enjoyed seeing the police station lobby, and tributes to Bane, the first K-9 officer in the St. Francis PD.
Bane retired from the force in 2020. He passed away in 2024.
“We have a great relationship with Sargent Shane and Officer Joey (in photo),” said Cara Gaitens, Intergenerational Activities at the Stein. “They visit us a few times per year, which is so nice because we get to know them.”
St. Ann Center is proud to have played a part in this meaningful exchange that helps forge connections between community and law enforcement. We encourage everyone to take a moment to express gratitude in their own way. Let’s keep the spirit of thankfulness alive, one card at a time.
