Chili & Jewelry Add Spice to St. Ann Center

By November 14, 2017No Comments3 min read

A tasteful weekend is guaranteed at the Warm Your Heart Chili and Jewelry Sale, Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care-Stein Campus, 2801 E. Morgan Ave. Open 9 a.m.-1 p.m., this special sale will feature chili from popular Milwaukee restaurants, an array of jewelry, and a market filled with gifts and produce.

Treat your taste buds to a sumptuous variety of chili, ranging from chicken to vegetarian and mild to spicy, served with all the fixings. There’ll be a selection of home-cooked classics, too, made by friends of St. Ann Center. Chili will be sold in flights, so you can sample several types, or you can opt for a brimming bowlful of your favorite.

A perfect place to start your holiday shopping, the sale will feature hundreds of pieces of vintage, retro and heirloom jewelry—from rings, necklaces and bracelets to pins, earrings and watches. Costume jewelry is regularly donated to St. Ann Center by local churches, schools and individuals. Volunteers sort through it and clean, repair, card and price each eye-catching piece.

Jewelry fans will also find one-of-a-kind creations designed and handcrafted by Sr. Edna Lonergan, St. Ann Center founder and president. Sr. Edna began designing jewelry years ago as a pastime and a way to supplement funding for the children, elderly and adults with disabilities served by St. Ann Center.

The center’s sunny atrium will be filled with vendors selling everything from locally grown produce to handcrafts and gourmet foods to pet products and themed gift baskets. There’ll be live music by the Nonprofits from 10 a.m. to noon. And free chair massages will help you relax. Pet massages will be demonstrated by one of our therapists specially trained to work on dogs and cats.

Restaurants donating chili include Bartolotta Restaurant Group, Beans & Barley, Café Lulu, Café Corazon, Café Centraal, C-viche, On The Bayou, Cudahy Burger Joint, Sam’s Tap and The Backyard.

Vendors include Ken Ruegsegger Produce, Authentically Urban, Lopez Bakery, Jewelry & Scarves by Sr. Diane Oman, Jose Acevedo Art, Avon, Annabelle’s Holistic Health, Dwelling Place Corp., Barb’s Crafts, Garden of Eden Kingdom Living, Gentle Hands Healing, Stitch Bewitchery, LulaRoe, Evelynn’s Boutique, Milgils Handmade Cards, Midwest Pet Designs & More, Stuffed Animal Rehab, Pheasant Run, Provider with Heart, Constance Janik Handmade Crafts, Gerri’s Unique Creations, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Picture This Framed Art, Happy Bees Distributors, Tupperware/L’Bri Natural Skin Care/Quilts, Tudo Sabor Brasil Brazilian Food and Sisters of St. Francis Gift Baskets.

All proceeds from the jewelry and chili sale go to support the care of children and adults of all ages and abilities at St. Ann Center.
