Our corner of the earth is awakening from its long winter slumber. As spring blooms like crocus, daffodils, and hyacinth emerge, and we hear the melodic tweet of the returning robin, the Bucyrus Campus welcomed the Urban Ecology Center for an Intergenerational Seasons Celebration program to explore all things spring.
The clients got to learn about our feathered friends that return to Wisconsin each spring, such as robins, red-winged blackbirds, and American goldfinches. The event honored Wisconsin’s maple sugaring tradition with pancakes served with real maple syrup.
The Urban Ecology Center, with three locations throughout Milwaukee, strives to connect people in cities to nature and each other. Their year-round programs for children and adults get people outdoors through hands-on learning about science, nature, and sustainably.
We welcome the return of our favorite birds, butterflies, flowering trees, plants, and insects, along with opportunities to get outdoors to explore our natural world.
