Enjoy free refreshments, walking and yoga sessions every Friday in May.

Ready for a breath of fresh spring air? St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care invites the community to enjoy Free Refreshment Fridays. Walk the landscaped pathways at the Bucyrus Campus, 2450 W. North Ave., every Friday in May from 10 a.m. to noon.

Walkers can enter the grounds from North 25th Street and stop at the “Tiki Hut” gazebo for a free drink and a snack, weather permitting.

On Friday, May 14 and 21, a free chair yoga session will be held at the campus’ Indaba Band Shell at 10 a.m. Certified Yoga Instructor Marquita Edwards will lead participants in basic yoga fundamentals such as breathing techniques, stretching and instruction on poses promoting flexibility and balance. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.

“After a year of dealing with the pandemic, everyone is looking for a way to get moving,” said St. Ann Center Special Events Director Gloria Miller. “Our walkways provide a safe, welcoming place for people to get their steps in and enjoy some nice spring weather.”

Visitors must wear face coverings and observe social distancing. Minors must be accompanied by an adult, and the fenced-in playground equipment is for the nonprofit organization’s childcare only.

The paved walkways, suitable for strollers or wheelchairs, on the 7.5-acre grounds cover one-third-mile, providing a safe and inviting place for outdoor exercise.
