St. Ann Center’s Bucyrus Campus Is a MANDI Awards Finalist

By December 3, 2015No Comments2 min read

St. Ann Center is thrilled to be among 15 finalists selected for the 2016 Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation. Known as the MANDIs, the awards celebrate the “good news” of successful efforts to revitalize neighborhoods and strengthen the community. The construction and opening of our new Bucyrus Campus generated our nomination.

Sponsored by U.S. Bank, in partnership with LISC-Milwaukee (Local Initiatives Support Corporation), the MANDIs recognize individuals, organizations, and corporations who are improving conditions in Milwaukee’s central city neighborhoods.

St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care was one of the organizations chosen from public nominations by an independent, volunteer committee. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 16th, at the Potawatomi Hotel and Casino, and featured through video vignettes.

The Bucyrus Campus is a finalist for the State Farm Building Blocks Award which recognizes a real estate project that advances the community. Over the next two months, a video will be made representing what went into the construction of the campus and how it is used to benefit our clients and the neighborhood as a whole. Judges will tour the Bucyrus Campus in a January site visit.

“The MANDIs provide an opportunity to celebrate Milwaukee’s diverse neighborhoods, and the many passionate, committed people working together to create a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities. These finalists represent the future of our city.” – Laura Bray, Executive Director, LISC Milwaukee

Winners in each category will receive $1,000. In addition, the Wells Fargo People’s Choice Award (an additional $1,000) will be presented to three finalists who receive the most public votes via social media between March 7 and 15. Voters will be able to view all finalists’ videos on Milwaukeenns.org. and support their favorite finalist. Watch our website for more information on this exciting recognition!
