Thinking about starting a business? A smart place to begin is at the free Business Incubator Workshop presented by Launch MKE and BizStarts. Set for Monday, May 20, 3-5 p.m., the event is hosted by St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care-Bucyrus Campus, 2450 W. North Ave.
The two-hour program will lead budding entrepreneurs through the process of how to evaluate a business idea or strengthen a business that’s already opened. Areas discussed include identifying customers, branding and messaging, product and service distribution, startup needs and costs.
Ald. Russell W. Stamper II, chair of the Milwaukee Common Council’s Community and Economic Development Committee, said, “The business incubator gives aspiring entrepreneurs the support they need for their idea and makes business ownership accessible to everyone. Ultimately, this will help Milwaukee’s north side business community expand.”
Following this introductory workshop, participants will have access to BizStart’s coaches, mentors and resource network and Launch MKE’s ten-week Business Academy. That program offers hands-on training in business planning and operations.
Pre-registration for the Business Incubator Workshop is required, and space is limited. Refreshments will be served. Sign up online.
