Sr. Edna shares about the center and intergenerational care in an interview with Mike Strehlow

Some of our favorite comments from the interview were:

“More than skylights, it is that happiness that brightens the intergenerational park at St. Ann Center’s Bucyrus Campus” -Mike Strehlow

“The hand of God is in this whole project” -Sr. Edna Lonergan, OSF

Thank you to all who shared and connected with the center through this story!

    Dear Friends,
To be brief, I wish to share with you a short personal story. I have had a compelling hobby for over 35 years, it is recording life stories of average people on video. It has given me a world of satisfaction to know I have saved multitudes of life stories for families that would be shared for now and future generations. It allows people see their family or friends on video as they are, with all their strengths, weaknesses, their hopes, desires, the way they looked, and finally, relating their personal history as they lived it. They may want to leave a message for future generations.
After many years of recording stories on video, it occurred to me to share my experiences and knowledge with others. I developed a simple method for instructing the average family on a how to video a life story using my instructional cd. called “My Living Legacy”. It is copyrighted, and I sell it on Amazon as a compact disc and book. The website is http://www.mylivinglegacy.net. The cd. is very complete and offers over 130 thought provoking questions. Included are video production techniques such as proper lighting and sound, plus a list of health and legal questions for those who are aging. When you have the opportunity, please visit my website. It may also be used as a format to start a video career.
It is my hope that children and adults of all ages will video record their family’s stories and get to know their elder generation that will not always be with them in the future. Many of us reflect back on someone we miss and would like to hear their voice or see him or her again, but death has silenced them. Take the time to video record yourself or a loved one now . People usuallly leave something behind for others, make it a life story, a legacy for future generations. Simply put, people’s life story should not be forgotten. You can always reach me at: mylivinglegacy@earthlink.net, 262-993-4232, or mylivinglegacy on face book. Thank you for your time.
    Sincerely,

Dick Liersch President My Living Legacy llc.
